Wizards Outlook: Washington Wizards vs Golden State Warriors Takeaways II


Wizards forward Rui Hachimura rises for mid-range jumper against the Warriors in Japan.


The Washington Wizards fell late to the Golden State Warriors 104-95 in their final battle at the Japan Games 2022.


Kristaps Porzingis led the way for Washington with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists, Will Barton in his preseason debut, added 12 points and 3 assists. Rui Hachimura posted a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while Monte Morris contributed an efficient 11 points and 3 assists.


Steph Curry, who was locked in from the opening tip, posted a team high 17 points on 7-13 shooting from the field. Rookie forward Patrick Baldwin Jr was huge in the fourth quarter run that ultimately won the game for the Warriors, as he added 12 points and 6 rebounds on 4-5 from 3-point range and Moses Moody continued his eye opening preseason play, scoring 12 points on 50 percent shooting from the field.


Washington's next preseason contest will be against the Charlotte Hornets, Monday, October 10th at 7p.m.
